They’ve Done a Great Job for the Arts!

The 2022 Legislative Session is over and legislators came through again in their support for the arts. There's a lot to be thankful for!

They voted to pass HB 5267. Once it's signed by the Governor, the bill will require the Department of Economic and Community Development to include arts and culture in its strategic planning. It will also recognize the sector as an important and necessary component of our state's economic and community development.

They funded the Free Summer in the Museums program that gives children across the state a chance to explore our state's cultural treasures at no cost to their primary caregivers.

They reached out to the cultural community to fund juvenile justice programs for children.

They left intact all of the arts and culture funding allocated for the 2023 fiscal year in the two-year budget they passed last year.
