Subject: “Join Us July 31 for Gubernatorial Forum on Arts, Culture, and the Future of CT’s Economy”

“This fall’s election of a new governor in Connecticut brings with it hope and opportunity.

Over the next several months, the candidates will openly discuss the strengths and challenges of the city and debate their priorities and vision for the next decade and beyond. YOUR INSTITUTION is a Co-Sponsor for Create the Vote from CT Arts Alliance and the CT Alliance for Arts Education  to ensure that a thriving arts, culture, and creative sector is part of that discussion and one of the priorities for our next governor.

One of the highlights of the Create the Vote campaign is the upcoming forum on Arts, Culture, and the Future of CT’s Economy, where the candidates for governor will discuss the issues of the creative community. The event is on July 31 from 5-6:30 at The State House in New Haven (294 State Street).

I want to personally invite you to the Forum to hear firsthand where the candidates stand on the issues of arts, culture and creativity. Please RSVP here to attend.

As the gubernatorial campaign heads into the fall, the arts, culture, and creative community has a rare opportunity to ensure that the issues of our sector and their fundamental importance in our overall quality of life are prominent in the minds of the candidates and voters. The Forum will be an opportunity for YOUR INSTITUTION and the creative community to show the candidates that their commitment to the arts, culture, and creativity matters.

Show the gubernatorial candidates that you care about the arts this election and attend the Forum on July 31. Click here to attend.

By working together, we can ensure that our next governor is a true champion of the arts.”

“Elections are a great time to talk about the strengths and challenges our state faces and the vision for our community. While candidates spend lots of time talking about jobs, the economy, and education, they rarely talk about arts and culture as part of their vision.

Today, CT Arts Alliance (CAA) and CT Alliance for Arts Education (CAAE) are launching Create the Vote CT, a nonpartisan public education campaign to raise awareness and support for the arts among voters and candidates running for public office.

Will you join us to boost arts and culture in the conversation during this important election? In the coming weeks, Create the Vote CT will release a toolkit and candidate questionnaire to keep you informed for this nonpartisan campaign.

Letter to Board of Directors / Advisory Committees / Staff / Volunteers

I am proud to share that we are a Co-Sponsor for Create the Vote CT, a nonpartisan public education campaign to raise awareness and support for the arts among voters and candidates running for public office.

The upcoming gubernatorial election is a great time to talk about the strengths and challenges our state faces and the vision for our community. While candidates spend lots of time talking about jobs, the economy, and education, they rarely talk about arts and culture as part of their vision. The CT Arts Alliance (CAA) and Connecticut Alliance for Arts Education (CAAE) have launched Create the Vote CT to ensure that arts and culture matters for voters and candidates this year.

I encourage you to join in! In the coming weeks, Create the Vote CT will release a toolkit and candidate questionnaire to keep you informed for this nonpartisan campaign.
